The Presidents
One night, George W. Bush was tossing restlessly in his White House bed. He awoke to find George Washington standing by him. Bush said "George, what's the best thing I can do right now to help our country?
"Set an honest and honourable example, and don't tell a lie, just like I did", Washington advised and faded away.
The next night, Bush was again restless and saw the ghost of Thomas Jefferson moving towards him. Bush called out: "Thomas, please!. What is the best thing I can do to help our country?"
"Respect the Constitition as I did," said Jefferson and vanished.
On the third night, Bush was still not sleeping well and was aware of the ghost of Abraham Lincoln. Bush said: " Abe, what is the best thing that I can do that will help our country?"
Lincoln's reply was short and terse: "Do what I did, he said. "Go to the theatre and watch a play." Daily Mail D.H. Lane, Exeter, Devon.
